Hellfest 2007 by SpiriT

Conclusion

The Hellfest 2007 is behind us, it will let me a huge amount of great memories. And that's what matter, the rest means nothing.

If you missed this fest, you missed much …

Certainly there were some problems with the organisation. There was not enough toilets, food was still a bit too expensive, not enough "Hellfest glasses", neither drink stand etc. But it's only details. People tend to forget they go to a fest for music !!

For what matters, communication was not very effective and the organisation seems to be overwhelmed by the success of this edition. Too few people to help, too few planning and every little matter is amplified. So when the weather went bad, and when luck gone out, little difficulties otherwise unimportant became urgent. Besides, I fear the site is too small for such an event.

Last thing, the organisation was bound to stop the music at 02AM. So when some delays occurred, they had no choice but to start the next band on the alternate stage before the current one did finish its show. Bad, bad, bad point with the main stage too close from the Gibson… I think they should better leave one or two bands out from the fantastic program and get some safety margin. Programming the last show to finish exactly at 2AM when you must stop at 02AM is not my vision of good management… With 81 bands, you cannot hope everything will be perfectly straight.

All we can hope is, now, with its current success, next years occurrences of the fest will be better planed. And those little details who sometimes spoil a little part of our pleasure will be far behind us.

Again, my thanks goes to the organisation and to all the volunteer. Thanks also to the groups who did play. Thanks then to all the people I met during these 3 days, you are fucking great (hoho I've heard too much of Robb and Alexis).

Last, thanks to all of the reader with enough courage to get there ;)
